This year the Nakameguro Sakura Festival is back in full swing! The Meguro River is in bloom with its pink lanterns and food stalls serving up sakura-inspired treats. We couldn't get enough of the beautiful sights and had fun looking at everyone’s cute expressions while admiring the sakura.

Nakameguro is a must-visit this season!

Feeling the love for my favorite color combo - pink and turquoise - against the stunning backdrop of Kumano River in Wakayama. Just when I thought this place couldn't get any better, a beautiful sakura tree 🌸 proved me wrong 😍

If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend renting a boat to cruise along the river or exploring the picturesque Hongu Taisha shrine to Yunomine on electrical bikes. And don't miss the oldest recorded onsen ♨️ in Japan, located in Yunomine!

Wakayama has so much to offer beyond its famous Koya-san, so get out there and explore 🗻⛩️

Wakayama is a rural area known for the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route. We loved this area even though it’s not one of the places that is usually visited during the sakura season. All the beautiful sakura trees under the large Oyunahara torii are such a magnificent view! We also definitely recommend visiting Hongu Taisha shrine and end your day having a bath in the onsen town of Yunomine Onsen (you can see the town in the last pics of this album)

Save Wakayama for a special Japanese rural experience!
