This May 2017 makes 4 years for The cat, you and us, yay! 4 years of my blabbing paired with pictures. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, because no matter how little and humble this online home is, almost from the beginning I have felt that I had a friend whom to talk and share things with, a caring pal.
This year was different from the rest, what a silly thing to say, isn’t it? Every year is different, but in blog terms there was something that hugely made it change from the previous ones, our other work within The cat in love, our photography project, had taken a very relevant position. However, I have realized how much I miss having more blog-time, more photography-for-us time, so we are definitely trying to switch things for this 5th year and are eager to create different content, learn more about video which is an itching Dani has always had, try to document daily with our dslr, specially Juno’s endeavours, and get more inspiration.
For now, let’s see how this 4th year of blogging looked like while we were searching for poppies, discovering new parts of the city, falling in love with Japan all over again (and again and again), having too many food dates, collecting pins and dying with Juno’s cuteness. Follow us in this memory lane!.
Daily adventures
Looking back to this blog-year the first thing I realize is that it was very family oriented. We welcomed Akane, the second child of my cousin on August, and our friend’s child Ireneu was born later on too. Had not one but two weddings of cousins (Eduard and Julio, one for each side of the family) and had to wave goodbye (but just for 1 year) to our cousins Elena and Eugeni whom are still living their own adventure in Chile. I should title this year, all about our cousins, right?
We have continued to grow our collections of pins (wishing to add more, this obsession doesn’t stop here, be warned, ha!) and board games, with 3 new additions: Sushi go (in the pictures), Takenoko and Forbidden Island. I think at least Takenoko deserves a separate post in this 5th year of blogging. Would you like that we keep talking about our favorite board games?
* All the blues
* The calm before the bells start ringing
* Falling in love with this city all over again
Travel
After oversharing too much of Japan I feel like cheating including this section in the review, but just had to because travelling is such an important part of what we are and why this blog even exists. This year only two destinations appear here: Segovia and Japan. A few but one of them has such a humongous meaning in our heart that for us is like 20, ha!
On a spoiler note, this weekend we are on suitcase mode! What would you pack to wear in a city that never sleeps? *wink*
“Favorites” in review
This year we decided to include a new (to our blog, of course!) feature to share our favorites. Favorites in general, of every type, like a movie we have enjoyed a lot, that new knick-knack to decorate our home or even a piece of clothing that has not yet taken part of any outfit. This is not a novelty section, but it’s one I adore from other blogs because it’s where I take like 90% of the recommendations of the new things to watch, try, eat or buy.
Barcelona Guide
After 3 years of sharing our lives from Barcelona we thought we should add a complete city guide that could be more helpful for people visiting this city.
Do you know that Spain is the 2nd country in Europe welcoming more tourists? Well, I have to agree with them, ha! because it certainly has a charm. Barcelona is usually in every itinerary too, so there are thousands of guides available, but we wanted to give our own perspective sharing places we actually visit every week, a guide from a locals point of view. The guide started this The cat you and us film productions madness when we released some clips to show the neighborhoods and will follow us in our future adventures too. The guide is far from completed, it’s alive, we add and remove some places so it’s updated and we will be sharing more neighborhoods films (and related guide section) during this new year.
The cat in love gigs
And this is exactly what I was talking about in the introduction of this post, all the gigs here had taken front page on our diary. We like to take special care of every single picture in a wedding, engagement or event when they hire us as official photographers. For some weeks we become part of their lives as they become of ours, truth is, we know each guest in the weddings by heart, ha!
So, if you want to blame someone for keeping us from writing more posts, here are their faces…. just kidding! We love them heaps and are thankful for their trust in our photographic eye.

Giveaways
We had two giveaways this year! Although we don’t have any sponsor whatsoever we like to send a yearly thank you in a package form. I seriously feel it’s the least we can do to give back some of the love and we have a big time too while buying the things, thinking about a creative way to show them and then sending the package. I may be a slow (the slowest?) penpal ever, but I put my heart into it, so having a chance to send someone not only a note but a gift it’s great.
Juno
Oh! Juno, you show stealer, my BFF, what could I say about your 4th blog-year? Juno is always my sweetheart. We were sick worried with her because she had two consecutive urine infections. It killed me to force her to swallow the pills, and after weeks of weeks I started fearing it wasn’t helping her at all, but she cured and forgave us quickly about all that forced pills. Luckily, Juno gets angry quite fast, but she forgives even faster. We love you, little stubborn diva!
* Happy easter from our bunny… err… cat!
* Happy Halloween: Juno & the pumpkins
* Christmas eve: be our guest!
* A Sunday with us: a photo an hour (or so!)
“As of late” in review
Finally, an old section of this blog is the “As of late” where we share the snapshots we take with our phones. I like this section because we got to share lots of adventures that happened when our dslr couldn’t witness it. Although in this recap there are mostly only food dates, I think my phone is actually 90% Juno (as our Instagram also is) because it’s easier to get here in her natural habitat with the phone. She is clever to know that if she can see the dslr, she will end up having at least a photo taken (or a thousand), so she is usually on ward.
* As of late… snapshots from May, June, July, August, September, October
* As of late… snapshots from January, February, March, April
Well.. and with all that, the 4th blogging year has gone… not quite! I have left some of our favorite pictures on purpose for a separate blogiversary post where I will be talking about my outfits. This blog is more about our daily endeavours, nevertheless, here and there we can’t resist making some outfits posts and looking back a them is always so much fun.
I have loved keeping up with the three of you through your blog! Of course the photos are beautiful and adorable, but I also love your writing and all your happiness and adventures! I’ve also been interested in video lately, and I can’t wait to see what you guys come up with <3 -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
