Up!

Hello from down here!

What are we doing with a big bunch of colorful balloons on a November day? Well, it is always a good idea to brighten things up before the Xmas lights take over. However, as a little disclaimer, the pictures are from the 20th of October, when Daniel surprised me for our anniversary with 16 balloons, each one representing the years we have been together. Of course, we couldn’t miss the opportunity to have some fun with the balloons and improvise a quick photoshoot.

A part from the 16 years (our sweet 16! ha!) the balloons also had another (not so secret) message. I’m sure you’ll remember the movie Up and its balloons lifting the house, the “growing older together” and the “let’s have adventures” were also in his mind for the gift. That’s why, although we hadn’t planned it, tried to put together a couple of things we own that could work to make a (tiny) further homage to the movie, thus Daniel was converted in the scout boy with my racoon headscarf and some pin and badges. I am not in theme at all, but hey, the cat dress is quite cute, isn’t it?

You can also see my new hairdo! I’ve lighten my usual dark hair with some honey highlight. I learnt that this technique it’s called balayage at the hairdresser, because it’s all over the hair not only the tips. Also, it’s quite Edna Mode if we follow the Pixar trend of this post, ha! Usually I style it more wavily and it has gotten a little longer now.

Thanks to the hubs for the balloon surprise! They stayed up for 3-4 days, but unfortunately I had to let the last bit of air out, and stored them inside a little box as a memento.

Although a hard week of work is ahead of me, I will keep the colors in my mind to cheer me up while I’m at a techie fair & congress. What are your plans? Wish you a lovely week!
