Happy Halloween, you gorgeous souls!
No matter how busy October is I can’t resist to change the decoration of our home to enjoy the season. Autumn is my favorite season, and I love to add some of its characteristic orange & yellow color scheme into our home. In fact, I have to admit that I’m planning to keep all year long some of the decor items too, can’t resist it. If you are like us, and haven’t got a lot of time to go overboard but still like to put some autumn into your living room/room, hope this post can be of inspiration!
Our tiny white witch, also known as Juno Little Witch, will be your guide. Be welcomed to our living room!
We have changed our usual table center piece (a cactus vase) for this amazing dry flowers bouquet, with a couple of fresh little pumpkins and the always effective lightbox with a Halloween-esque message. In the back there’s a special addition that makes me smile so much, the Stars Hollow annual autumn festival (it is just perfect!) and then a couple of my favorite ghosties from the 3-years-ago DIY Halloween decor.
Pineapples and pumpkins look so good together that I created another center piece for the coffee table with them. I think I am going to buy a couple more pumpkins for next year to give it more color though, but I am super happy on how they look. The halloween pumpkin plushie is from Tokyo DisneySea, and is usually not in the center piece but in the Alcatraz bowl (check a photo below).
My mom actually picked-up the pineapples in one of her daily walks in the woods at her town, so nice of her! When they got home I realized there were quite lots of bugs in them: little spiders, worms and ants. In fact, it was very Halloween-like, ha! However, I soaked the pineapples into water to clean them from bugs (Disclaimer: not sure if that’s actually the best method, just mentioning what I did!) and then with a little toothpick assuring that there weren’t more surprises in any corner. I put them on drying paper and a few hours later they were completely closed, super tight, impenetrable. I am sure this will sound super silly for country people, but hey, this city girl thought she was witnessing some alien cocoon instead of a pineapple (lol). I guessed that they were going to open once they were completely dry, and… yes, that is exactly what has happened. Each pineapple is slowly opening at its own pace, which is cute, we have a living center piece changing everyday!
We bought 4 new pillows with different textures and patterns but that work good together. Although I love them all, I think the alpaca is the apple of my eye. Both of us always tend to favor any item with an animal on it over anything, so we really have to make a hard exercise of restraint; a frequent joke we have is that whenever any of the two picks up an animal item, we sing Welcome to the jungle 🎵 The pillows are precisely what I am thinking of keeping all year long, do you think that will they work with my more pink-ish usual living room color scheme?
Elena and Eugeni are celebrating Halloween & Castanyada (the Catalan celebration with chestnuts & sweet potatoes) with us today, we are excited to put our Halloween playlist & have a laugh with them! Do you have plans? Do you go to costume parties?
Me encantan las fotos! Los colores y la decoración son de un acierto total! Enhorabuena a las protagonistas! Estáis Juno y tú guapísimas.
Eeep! All your little touches are perfect and that alpaca pillow is definitely worthy of being around year long ! Love the cut out on your sweater, such a pretty colour and super cute you guys sing Welcome to the Jungle! Happy Halloween!
this decor is flawless! Love to see your little, grumpy fluff again. <3
Even though autumn is my favourite season, I love decorating for the winter holidays! If it weren’t for my roomie who is adamant about holding off the Christmas celebrations until Thanksgiving is over, my apartment would be decked out in Christmas cheer already! But your warm and cosy autumnal decorations are defrosting my heart a bit ;P Love the dry flower bouquet! Also wow you were so brave with the pineapple haha. Very spooky :P Hope your November has started off well! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
