Good Monday! How was your Halloween weekend? We really play this holiday more casual in Barcelona that we would like, instead there is another tradition that involves eating chestnuts and sweet potatoes (more foodie than party), so our first real Halloween experience ever (with pumpkins and everything!) was in Disneyland Paris and our first stop, of course, the Haunted Mansion (called Phantom Manor in Paris). We will come in a following posts with more pictures from our digital camera soon, their harvest parade was a favorite. How did you celebrate this weekend? Tell us all about your costumes and parties, we are thrilled to hear!

Although almost all our phone snapshots from this October were taken during our Parisien getaway, we started this month at Sitges Film Festival; another place very related to the Halloween imaginario with zombies and scary movies. Sitges was a blast, and it’s one of those dates that when it ends we immediately book for next year. Do you have any unavoidable date in your calendar? Maybe a music festival? A crafts fair?
During Sitges we learnt that Piri (Jane & Yangkyu’s dog pal) was diagnosed with a kidney disease, and Jane shared through Instagram about a story she heard while growing up about a Japanese girl who was sick and attempted to fold 1000 cranes so her wish came true. We didn’t need to read more, we knew we wanted to join Jane folding one for Piri so we could be part of that wish. Well, in fact Juno did (wink! wink!) with an origami paper that we brought from Japan. The crane is now sitting on top of our shelf, and every morning I send my best wishes to Piri when I see it. Read more about Jane’s thoughts on how she felt after everyone’s response, she is the loveliest.

Paris was (quite obviously, I guess) the scene stealer of our phone snapshots this month. October has been a very very busy month for work issues but it also included our anniversary getaway which was like a little breach to take some air; just take a little peek to see the funniest boy on the picture above to know how well the french people treated us!

Since we didn’t stop at Louvre’s in our first Paris visit, this time we made sure to borrow a few minutes to take a good look at the pyramid’s entrance and we grabbed two park chairs to watch the sunset at Jardin des Tuileries.

Mickey shaped pumpkins, witch hats on top of the streetlights, ghosts figures hanging on the main street square and lots of yellow, orange and maroon around: gorgeous!

Taking pictures at Alice’s in wonderland teacups was not easy ;)

We took dinner at Chez Remy, unfortunately their ratatouille does not follow Remy’s recipe…

We stumbled upon the Prix Virgina exhibition which this year awarded the interesting Dina Goldstein’s Fallen Princesses & In the dollhouse photography series. Happy chance encounter!

We went back to creperie Josselin at Montparnasse on Sunday. I love their galettes (salty crepes) a lot but this time I fell in love with their butter flavoured delicious nutella crepe.

How was your October? Are you looking forward November? Definitely I am, we hope we will be able to reveal a couple of exciting news aaand… it’s (sort of) the beginning of the Christmas holiday season and I will be able to start playing my Christmas songs playlists without feeling too guilty! Please forgive me for introducing the C word already (sorry not sorry?)…
