Living the Festivalet craft winter market as insiders

Hello sweeties! We missed last weekly date for a good reason, we were working hard to release all our photography coverage of last Festivalet craft winter market.

Long time readers may find the name “Festivalet” familiar since we have shared a couple of times in the blog our love for this craft & design market that takes place before Christmas in Barcelona. One of the organizers contacted us to request if we could take this year’s official pictures of the market, and we were thrilled! She told us how she loved our 2014 pictures, which we took to share with you our experience, and that she thought our photography style could be a good match with the overall feeling of the market (nice to hear!). We didn’t think twice and enrolled the Festivalet staff! I need to mention how incredibly sweet all the participants and the organizers were with us during those 2 market days and have again been once we have published the pictures, it was very special to feel part of such a talented family.

Although the complete coverage is shared in the Festivalet Facebook page right now, we still wanted to share it here because we have some extra pictures with ourselves in action that bring a little different perspective. Hope you like them!

The decor theme of the market was clouds, stars and rainbows, cute!

I like those paparazzi shots like the one that is following this pic. Dani makes fun of me, although at the same time he likes me doing them, so he had to capture this moment for his amusement, and now ours! Damaris the paparazzi!

Although we were in work duty we also had time to take a little peek of all the wonderful items and try the food. Here is Dani waiting to take his coffee dose!

We had a sweet potato & cheese sandwich and two spicy tacos (chicken and beef). Yumm!

There is usually one booth in the market devoted to photography. Last year they had an original analogue photobooth (fun!) and for this year’s market Martí Andiñach Wet Plate studio was making the wonders of the photography addicted visitors. He had a mobile studio to take pictures with a 19th century camera with a collodion wet plate process. The process requires the subjects to be still for 6 seconds, which sounds easier than it is, ha! Of course we had to take ours, and was amazing! We were able to see the developing process from the negative plaque.

Here it is our 19th century wet plate picture! We look a little bit like dangerous fugitives, right? ha!

Do you have any favorite craft market? I think it is very nice to have this opportunity to be able to buy Christmas gifts directly from those artists that I already admire from the online world.

Can’t end this post without mentioning that Christmas is around the corner! yay! stockings prepared?
