Hello there! How was your weekend? Did you watch the Oscars on Sunday? I tried to, with slim conviction though because the ceremony starts what for us is 2:30 in the middle of the night and I was awake only a partial part of the red carpet. Do you have a favorite dress? I don’t have a big clear one, but it would be between Emma Stone, Cate Blanchett, Dakota Johnson and Keira Knightley. A good new about it is that I won our (last minute) Oscars 2015 contest with Dani choosing Birdman as the best movie (I knew Juno is the perfect guessing weapon) and the price is a wonderful Sukiyaki soup dinner – yay! – I’ll keep you informed!
We are starting this week posts with our pictures from Vall de Nuria. We took a day off to go to the mountains since we thought the snow could be the best remedy to this February blues. Vall de Nuria is a ski resort 3 hours away from Barcelona, which is quite fun to get to because the last part of your trip is in a cog railway. I don’t like heights so a cog railway is the most similar thing to a theme park attraction in real life for me.

Our (short) plan for the day was to rent snowshoes and go for a casual photographic walk. It was the first time for us walking in snowshoes and going for a walk around Nuria, so we headed to the Information Center to ask for an appropriate one. I guess our clothes & camera were not enough hint for the officer and he got us on road to Noucreus, the steepest trail of them all.
It would not be a big surprise to learn that we were not prepared for that sporty turn of events. After falling several times, without feeling my butt anymore – out of the cold ice, my tights were definitely not snow-proved – and even dropping the camera in the snow (now picture Dani panic face here) we decided that it was time to go back to the ski resort restaurant for a deserved lunch and to call the snowshoes adventure off, ha!

During the afternoon we took some pictures around the ski station main area which felt like a bliss after the “storm”, we’ll share them in a following post, I think they suit much better our relaxed selves than the ones here!
Have you ever walked in snowshoes? On our return we learnt that it’s not easy when in so sloppy, glad to know! we don’t feel that clumsy anymore.
