Wakayama is a rural area known for the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route. We loved this area even though it’s not one of the places that is usually visited during the sakura season. All the beautiful sakura trees under the large Oyunahara torii are such a magnificent view! We also definitely recommend visiting Hongu Taisha shrine and end your day having a bath in the onsen town of Yunomine Onsen (you can see the town in the last pics of this album)

Spring has officially arrived in Tokyo, with some trees even with almost full bloom, so I am sharing today one of the city's most stunning sakura spots - Chidorigafuchi! 🌸 This park, located in the south of Ueno, is an absolute paradise with its picturesque lake and as bonus feature, that sets it apart from the rest - BOATS! 🚣‍♀️ The fun kawaii swan boats 🦢, the pedal boats with wheels to steer, or the classic boats in blue, red and yellow 🛶 Which boat would you choose? Let me know in the comments below! 😍 in our case, the blue boat stole our hearts because, you may know already that Dani loves a row boat a lot!

MY TIPS!

It can be a little confusing at first to know which train station is the best for the boating house, so here’s what we did:
* Metro station: Hanzomon
* Walk towards the park – go to Uchibori dori, once in the park’s walking lane follow the “boats” signals
* Once you are done, leave the park by the north entrance, metro station: Kudanshita

And very important, go early! Around 8:00 is the best time.

Itsukushima, or more widely known as Miyajima, is a Hiroshima island that is hands down one of the best places to experience a sakura wonderland. Why? Because you will be enjoying it with the best inhabitants of the island, the deers! 🦌❤️Even though you will find trees all over Miyajima, imo here are the two best spots:

1. Momijidani park (after crossing the red bridge keep walking a little more)
2. Walk alongside the creek, around Sujikai Bridge

Of course, if you visit Miyajima you also need to see the floating temple and torii, plus eat a momiji manju and go to the Rilakkuma cafe!
