Autumn leaves in short sleeves

Autumn at Jardin des Tuleries - The cat, you and us

Autumn has been MIA in Barcelona this year. Until a week ago we were still on our 68ºF (20ºC), we had our summer wardrobe at full bloom and not many beautiful shades of leaves at sight to enjoy. This lack of autumn specially upsets me because clothing-wise I love the challenge of start layering (with more or less success, that’s always the trickiest part, right? summers are much easier!) and because when I think of autumn only good things happening in my life come up.

I guess somehow my mind directly relates this absence of autumn with the gloomy days I am this season having; too much work pressure (meaning our not blog-related full-time work) that leave us empty, tired, without being able to be fully ourselves. It has been hard to look at the good side of everything else and we nevertheless have to admit that we know we should be proud, happy and hopeful for the news and challenges that the blog and photography is bringing us in our daily lives.

I have realized that although complaining can be a a temporary kind of fake healing, the only thing that works for us is to put a smile and visualize a list of all the good things happening at the same time of those not so good ones, focus while constructing a future with them. I’m sure this will give us tools to keep up with more short sleeves’ autumns, so go ahead keep them coming, we’ll be prepared!

For those as curious as me: I’m wearing a Kling skirt, Batman t-shirt by Pull&Bear and Calezedonia kitty tights. Dani is wearing a Paris skyline t-shirt from He by Mango.

The pictures in this post were taken at Jardin des Tuileries during our wedding anniversary getaway at the end of October. I think showing a moment that definitely makes us smile needed to be in order for this post :)

How was your autumn? Is winter approaching at your home town? I’m extremely looking for it, I’m planning to bring the crafty me back: tremble with fear!

Winter boots! :) We just jumped from almost summer last week to winter this week, I am looking into my winter wardrobe now! Not enough time to prepare ourselves at all.

I’m so jealous of everyone else’s Indian Summers. We even had snow flurries last week (although nothing stuck to the ground.)

Oh snow! I think I have a little too idealized snowy landscapes (since we rarely have it here)

Ah I hope the universe spins things around for you guys, lets your work become less demanding and more fun opportunities your way. I think everyone feels the slump somewhere in the year (or several or daily :P). Your positive outlook will definitely help things and wearing cute/awesome clothing too!

I’ve read some other bloggers also complaining about being on the low side, maybe it’s some general “autumn” vibe ;) I am definitely looking positively forward to this end of month and specially to December. Thanks Fee!!

It’s funny because I actually am such a fan of autumn. Although the gloom does get me down once in a while, somehow this year it has not been a problem yet. I am really sorry to hear that work has gotten you down but I agree – the best thing to do is to focus on the positive. It sounds cliche and simple, but just reminding ourselves of all the good can really remind us to see the big picture and hopefully (usually!) the case is that things are not so bad. In fact, oftentimes the stress comes about because of the really hard work you have put into something, because after putting in a lot of hardwork, the pay off somehow seems to always be more work.

So right, Rae! It’s always a downer when the pay off seems to have even more work yet to be done. Thanks for the sympathetic and positive words :)

Wow, 20ºC in Holland, that’s summer temperatures, right? The weather is kind of crazy. I have a weakness for some prints on t-shirts, bats & cats being on the top ;) ♥
