Happy December to everyone! This is Dani (yes, I also post on the blog… at least sometimes!), Damaris has caught the flu so today I’m in charge here, sharing another edition of our phone snapshots from last month. Although our blog-life has been very exciting lately (thanks to everyone participating in the giveaway!), real-life (and with this I mean work) has absorbed us so much time and energy on November that we don’t have plenty pictures to show. Anyway, looking at the pictures on the post, I now see it hasn’t been that bad after all, in fact, what a good foodie month we had (and that makes it a good month right away)!
Ramen-ya hiro is one of our favorite restaurants in town. We are not alone in this mania, there is always a 30-40′ waiting line. This time we thought that the rain would reduce the waiting time: dang! wrong! everyone in Barcelona is as crazy as us, so we had to wait under the rain for an entire hour waiting for a good Ramen (patience is a virtue?).
There are only four main dishes at Ramen-ya Hiro: Shōyu Ramen (my favorite), Miso Ramen (Damaris’ choice), Seafood Ramen and Tsukemen dipping Ramen (my favorite on summer!). Have you tasted different type of ramen? Which one do you like better?
Although we had in our mind all the time that we must take a picture of our Ramen, we were so hungry that we finally forgot it! Instead we can show you one picture of the seafood ramen of the guy sitting next to us on the counter, at least you can see how they look like!
This is how autumn shyly looked in Barcelona this year: I hope next year he will not forget about us!
Shunka is our favorite sushi spot on the city, not any arguments accepted (well, Koy shunka, and that will be all I can discuss about). The one in the right is a Toro Nigiri (fatty tuna) and the one in the left is a Toro Tataki Nigiri (a grilled toro nigiri), our dessert (we prefer them over sweet treats sometimes) for this delicious dinner.
We were invited to the party to celebrate the 8th anniversary of Duduá and the publication of their new book (more on this next week!). During the party we had fun playing at a bingo game (it was my first time ever and Damaris’ had to fill me in with the mechanics) and listening to some cool alternative music.
And believe it or not, we are not always eating Japanese food: The picture above and below are from Santa Burg, one of the best burgers in town.
Does this picture look familiar? We loved the wall-art of Cafe Cometa, so many talent concentrated in a single wall! And we got the chance to play recognizing some artists, won’t tell you who won this time…
Have you already checked our post about the we love cats market? We’ve discovered this craft fair this year and definitely we are going back next one!
We caught up with our dear friend Gerard, who was back from a trip to UK and brought us some souvenirs. In return we beat him (I could even say destroy, but I won’t like to be a show-off, hahaha) at Mario Kart. Did you guys have already tried the new tracks? What’s your favorite?
Gerard explained how he is lately into Geocaching, a mobile game where you have to found hidden objects around the world.
And yes, we may won at Mario Kart but he wiped us out on Geocaching!
How was your month? We would like to hear what November has brought to you!
such fun times! and yangkyu loooves ramen too. i do too but yangkyu just looove them :) and i was just telling everyone how i wanted to play mario kart. i have such fond memories of laughing non stop while playing in college on the N64. We have the wii which is ancient (it still feels like yesterday when we got it though!) but everyone recommended that we get the wii u. we’re still thinking bout it! :)
Oh, if you finally go for the wii u tell us and we can arrange a 4-players race, Piri & Juno would be the perfect cheerleaders for the match
ah! also feel better damaris!! sending healing thoughts :)
I tried to go geocaching once, but it didn’t go too well because we didn’t have a GPS! I think I’ll try again some day. The idea of geocaching is so exciting!! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
Geocaching is fun but extremly difficult, we tried to find two objects, the first one took us 30 minutes, the second one was impossible to find!
geocaching and mario kart two of my fav things – woohoo! *nerd alert* You crazy peeps waiting for your ramen though I can’t say I wouldn’t do the same, I love noodles and soup (and salt :P) and ramen is the perfect combo! Sending many well wishes to you Damaris!!!
Thanks Fee, your well wishes worked out and Damaris is fine right now! ;)
