Our small Cowardly Lion

I always think about Juno as the cowardly lion of the Wizard of Oz, because let’s face it: she is a cutie but definitely not the bravest cat in the world.

I think we already noticed the first time we met her. Juno was 1 month old back then (she was a small ball of fur) when we went to play with all her little brothers & sisters. Can you guess who was the only kitty who did not play with us? Juno was terrified of the “monsters” (crazy cat couple translation for cats) who were eager to pet and love her.

I was a little worried but Damaris told me that she might get braver with age. Two months later, during her first day at home we showed her all her brand new things like the sandbox, and I vaguely remember it, but I have this memory of her reaction when she saw her food bowl for the first time. Yes, she was even scared of her own bowl!

Nowadays she is a little braver, but every time a stranger comes into our home she runs like hell to hide under the sofa. Although that’s always her first reaction, she always ends wining her fears and getting out when she realizes our family and friends are not that scary (or at least some of them are not that scary – not picturing anybody here, not at all).

Do your pets have their own safety blanket? Follow Juno and find hers, the safest place in our home!

Under the sofa Juno feels safe - The cat, you and us

If you want to meet Juno she probably will be here.

Yep, she is there - The cat, you and us

She is a smarty-pants girl, it only fits a human arm under the sofa and she can move when you are lying on the floor with your arm completely trapped under it. Then she usually looks at you with her “you are owned” face.

Kitty flats - The cat, you and us

Damaris evil kitty flats approaching to her safety blanket can start the panic at any time.

Thinking I am not that terrible after all - The cat, you and us Going up - The cat, you and us

She realizes that her beloved female slave is the guilty one who left the kitty flats on the floor.

three cats on scene - The cat, you and us Abracadabra - The cat, you and us

Juno showing her I’m-not-afraid-you-did-think-so-ha dance routine.

Adorable Juno - The cat, you and us

After spending all that energy, Juno returns to her usual mood, looking for a good place to sleep and being adored.

Peting - The cat, you and us

Ok, she will never be the bravest cat on the world but she always will be the sweetest cat for us ;)

What a cutie! We have a scaredy cat at home as well and her favorite hiding spot is underneath the bed.. not even my arm fits under there, so it’s a good place to hide ;)

Our bed is so crowded with old furniture and boxes that Juno has serious troubles when she tries to hide underneath ;)

  2. Oh man! What a ridiculously cute cat! Her hiding spot is so clever!! If I were a cat, I think I would choose to hide under the couch too: can witness all the action and still feel all snuggled up and safe at the same time haha :)

She has other hide-outs (like behind the tv; I can spend so much time searching for her while she is calmly watching me from back there!) but her all time favorite spot is under the coach, no doubt about it ;)

awww.. she will most certainly be the sweetest cat :) i love her so much. piri gets scared of random trash cans and floating plastic bags.. he hesitates and tries to pretend like he didn’t see it and trots away from it.. heehee.

Hahaha, Juno and Piri could be a good team, when she falls down from a high spot she acts like nothing has ever happened, but she gets very angry at us because we caught her on a shameful situation ;)

Està avisada, li està preparant una audioguia per visitar i conèixer tots els seus amagatalls, mentres la Ranma faci la ruta ella l’esperarà darrera la cortina xD

both my cats are the same. afraid of their own shadow. it’s slowly getting better. they’re six now. so it took a long time. and they are still afraid of pretty much everything they haven’t encountered before. I love that about cats. they have such strong personalities.

I will never tire of your Juno pictures. She is so sweet, even if she is a big scaredy-cat.

Thanks Mariko! Juno is like Cringer of the He-man series but without her superpowers xD

Juno is such a sweet kitty! :) My two cats are curious and friendly around big people but are frightened around children! I guess it’s because we don’t have little kids around our place very often.

Juno is afraid of children too, I guess because they are totally unpredictable and fit in more hide-outs than us grown-ups, I get it, I’m a little scared of them too xD

aww she is the cowardly lion! I can relate to wanting to hide under sofas when new people visit our house :P

Juno is furious if you discover her to the newcomers when she is hiding, hope you don’t get angry at Ben if he reveals your position to your new visitors ;)

Oh my cats are so different… they love everybody and they take 5 seconds to bond to the person walking down the front door…it is not uncommon for them to forget all about me when i have house guests ;P
    Juno is so cute!
