Hello March! Can’t believe we are so close to spring already, how comes February has flown away? I know it is a tricky month, with less days, but it has totally fooled me making me believe I still had plenty time left to catch up with everything… not at all, but hey, I feel much more on track, which is plenty enough! Want to see the charming adventures, mostly indoors (it’s still cold guys!), that got captured through our trusty phones? Join along and scroll down!
Do you ever want to stumble upon me? Come here ;) This little coffee shop in Barcelona is my favorite corner in the city, it heals me whenever I am in a bad mood, its comfort food makes wonders. The curry rice is unbelievable good. And please, can we take a minute to say how super cute Dani t-shirt is? Can you read the Japanese in the t-shirt? I can only decipher “dokoro”.
Mary once again step into our home, and Juno once again thought it was something to eat.
I chatted with this beautiful lady and had a very green breakfast.
Juno was our Valentine, she daily is!
On Valentine’s day I went to see a new adaptation of Rent, the musical. Rent was my first ever musical and is very dear to my heart. I loved the enthusiast that the young cast exhale from the stage and we thought how (sadly) much present the theme still is with the real state crisis and the evictions.
Can you tell I was excited? It’s RENT! and here I was 10 minutes away from listening live the lyrics I know by heart.
Next to our local movie theater there is a place called Sandwichez (you can find several around Barcelona), which has become our second home this month. For every Oscar movie we watched we drank a fresh fruit juice to kill time and Dani became addicted to Tyrrell’s vegetable crisps.
For work reasons I spent all last week in the Mobile World Congress, a technology fair where the latest mobile “thingies” are presented. I was only able to leave my position one day to experiment the new Virtual gear from Samsung, it was a 360º video of a rollercoaster; the seats moved with the video so it was a super immersive experience. This VR encounter made me laughed after this gif called “the future” (should we add “the scary future”?), don’t miss it!
Leo won on Sunday, so Juno is happy and won’t be sending her sad face picture to the Academics ;)
How was your February? Which was your highlight? How is March looking for you? We have a wedding this month for The cat in love and Easter is slowly approaching, exciting!
Happy March you guys too! Wahhhh love that cafe with Japanese
dishes :D we need to go there together next time :P and I too
love Dani’s shirt! I can’t read Japanese unfortunate :c
The Mobile World Congress was also on our Dutch local news,
and I think I would like it there too :P -nerd-
And like Juno, I also am happy that Leo won his Oscar! Xx
Ice Pandora
That’s a date! We definitely will be visiting Usagui next time you come to Barcelona! :) How fun to know that Mobile World Congress was also over on the Dutch news, it’s a huge thing here specially because people like Mark Zuckerberg or Bill Gates host key conferences. I will never stop saying “yay” for Leo and his Oscar! :)
February in Barcelona looks pretty good from here! I have never been, but just stumbled across your blog a couple of days ago and it has already joined the top of my to-go list. All of that food looks incredible…
I’m really enjoying your posts!
Sophie x
Thanks for stopping by our blog Sophie, you’re very sweet! :)
Looks like you had a great month! I wish there were more places I could grab a curry rice lunch around here.
We also don’t have many places with curry rice in their menu, in fact my first ever curry was in Japan :) but Usagui’s is very good, so I’m pleased. Wish you a great March!
Feb seems like a blur to me, but I’m excited about March – Japan!!! (although I’m probably annoying everyone by how exited I am for our trip – oops!) Yay for rent and Dani’s shirt and delicious beverages!! Bring on March!!
Oh! March in Japan, right!! I’m so super excited for you dear Fee! I will be thinking about you guys everyday :) Will the sakura already be in bloom, or maybe the ume? It will be wonderful, can’t wait to know your itinerary.
When I first saw the Ume blooms, I thought they were Sakura, so I’m happy just for some plums :) We’re renting a campervan and traveling south down the main island so maybe there might be some sneaky sakura in bloom super south?!?!
Plums are gorgeous! How fun to be renting a campervan around south of Japan (Kyusu, maybe? I have the Takachiho falls in my wishlist! I think I need 2 or 3 more travels to Japan to check all the locations of my wishlist out, hahahahha ;) ). I am thrilled to see your pictures and diary :)
Our schedule is super flexible, aka, I ran out of time to plan like my usual crazy plan self does :P Oops! I think Ben is probably relieved though and I do have a few sneaky ideas up my sleeves, so we’ll see how it all pans out :) Those falls looks beautiful, I’m definitely writing them down!
